Robert Frederick Morningstar B.A., LL.B.
Robert is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree (1971) from Victoria College and a Bachelor of Laws degree (1974) from the University of Toronto Law School
Having been born and raised in the Niagara Peninsula, he first articled with Ken Douglas, and then after his call to the Bar in 1976, commenced practicing law in St. Catharines. He was a partner in the venerable St. Catharines law firm of Bench, Keogh and now has chosen to practice in association with Douglas Legal Services as Counsel.
Robert practices in residential and commercial real estate law (purchases, sales, and mortgages),
wills and estates, and corporate commercial and business law, as well as assisting in some civil litigation.
While Robert has considerable experience successfully arguing cases in the Ontario Court of Appeal
and other trial work, he prefers the solicitor’s work involved with real estate, wills and estates,
and commercial/ business law.
He has always had a great interest in the arts and has served on various arts committees
or boards during his career, as well as participated in live performances as a singer and actor. He is a very active member of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore, and a member of the United Church of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Lincoln County Law Association.
Robert prides himself in bringing to his law practice the Rotarian fundamental principles
of the “four-way test” and the philosophy of “service above self,” endeavouring to be always approachable and
friendly in his practice of law, while at the same time offering superior service and affordability.
